The Light City By: Zoe Chen

Chapter 1

Above the Earth, beyond the clouds, lies a place called the Kingdom of Light. The creatures living in the kingdom were humans of stone and light. They made good use of light and rock to build their own civilization, but excessive exploitation exhausted the resources on the clouds. Creatures of light other than humans became contaminated by what they created and mutated. The creatures became out of control and destroy the civilization they  built. All that remained of the city  are a few surviving ancestors and its ruins。

Chapter 2

Some time later, a small stone is recovered from the ruins. He opened his eyes. The light from the clouds came into the heart of the stone, and the light seeped out of the crevasse of the stone and a stone child was formed.

The stone boy got up. “Where is this?”

Only the ruins around him responded

The stone boy got up and ran to the cave, where he found a stone tablet with the words “City of Light” and some vague description.

The stone kid wiped the dust off the stone tablet, looked at the remaining text, pointed to ” the word “Lose, ” an inscription on the stone table. The stone boy blurted out, “This is my name…”

Then the boy got up and walked across the cave. At the other end of the cave was a barren landscape of a desert and city.

Stone Boy proclaimed, “This is the city I belong to. I want to know. I need to understand the past of this city”

Chapter 3

 Embarking on a journey that takes him through the city's villages, and past the ruins of its dilapidated factories. Through the city's places of faith. He listened to stories from his ancestors on countless stone tablets, and he learned little by little about the past.

The little deeds of the ancestors and what they did let the boy understand the history of the city, from the original establishment to the end of their own selfish behavior.

"Lose, we had a God of light. Unfortunately, we betrayed him. We upset the balance of nature here. Help us Lose."

The souls of the ancestors repented  and some ancestors hoped that Lose could restore the country in his own will. However, Lose could only listen to the ancestors' words in silence and try to restore the original glory and originality of the city little by little in his mind.

Lose said, "I missed the glory of this city, but I don't want to retrace my ancestors' steps. I need to find the fish they called the original God of the Land of Light."
